I am almost 83.  I stayed actively employed in Nursing for 45 years.  The first four years were at Immanuel, the original hospital. After that I spent four years at the VA hospital in Omaha, Nebraska and 30 years at the VA in Phoenix, Arizona. I also spent two years in a private hospital in Tempe, Arizona and did home health nursing concurrently while at the VA.  After retiring from the VA, I spent a year doing telephone triage for a national company and four years as a parish nurse.

During all this time, I was married and had five children. Unfortunately, my second child died at age 10 and my first child died at age 46 of uterine cancer.  I have lived a very busy and fulfilling life with its ups and downs.  My Lord, my family and nursing been my entire life and focus.

I am so grateful for my choice to take my amazing and exceptional nurse’s training at Immanuel. The people who came into my life those three years will never be forgotten for the spiritual, educational and loving guidance I received from the deaconess, the nurses and doctors and everyone involved in the Immanuel Deaconess Institute. I was certainly blessed to be a part of this marvelous organization.
