Justin Grabouski Alumni Spotlight

What he learned as a baseball player at Midland University, both on and off the diamond, remains with Dr. Justin Grabouski 20 years later.

Now operating his own Grabouski Chiropractic clinic in Overland Park, Kansas, he still leans on what he learned as a student-athlete after he arrived at Midland from Beatrice, Nebraska.

“I was raised on a family farm where work ethic wasn’t optional. I grew up with parents who led by example and taught me a deep respect for discipline and perseverance. That foundation carried seamlessly into my college baseball career where under Coach Jef Field, the standards were high and uncompromising. The focus went well beyond performance on the field, it was centered on developing excellence in character, preparation, and mindset. Discipline wasn’t an option, it was a way of life and that pursuit of getting better every day, mentally and physically, has followed me into my work as a chiropractor.”

Justin Grabouski Alumni Spotlight Quote“I believe in giving my all to every patient and I set out to create a culture of care well beyond the industry standard, not just in healing, but in providing long-term well-being and support. The combination of my up-bringing, education, and time at Midland under Coach Field instilled a relentless drive inside of me to not only care for others, but pursue excellence in everything I do. I will always be grateful for that.”

His greatest success on the field came in his senior year when the Warriors posted a 42-15 record. His memories of that season, and his teammates, remain with him to this day. “I’m still incredibly proud of that team, and so are my teammates. We all remain best friends to this day, coaches included, and talk often. Being a student-athlete at Midland was a huge honor, and incredibly fun.”

That success has carried over into his professional life as Justin and his team have established one of the top practices in the Kansas City area. Grabouski Chiropractic was recently named Kansas City’s Favorite Chiropractor in the Kansas City Star’s Favorites Awards. It also earned the honor of being one of 25 doctors in the nation to continuously receive the Pinnacle Award for Top 25 Outstanding Doctors over the past 10 years. “These honors are an incredible recognition of the trust and support our patients have shown me, and my team, over the past 16 years. None of these awards mean anything without our patients. I am incredibly honored to have a career I love that allows me the opportunity to help people every day. There hasn’t been a single day in my career when I woke up and didn’t want to go to work.”

In his spare time, Justin and his wife, Noel, love to travel. He also enjoys being outside, doing a little farm work, fishing, and spending time with their dogs. He also relishes opportunities to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. “I enjoy teaching students and other chiropractors, and speaking at national seminars. I love my profession, and I’m always looking for opportunities to give back and pay it forward.”

Justin said the people he met on his college visits were a big influence in his decision to attend Midland. “I was able to spend time with the current baseball players and they made me feel welcome. I could tell they were part of something special. I also chose Midland because of its science department. I knew I wanted to do something in the medical field, and I knew I needed a good foundation to start from, so I chose chemistry as my major and made the commitment. It remains one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made.”

He looks back on his years at Midland as a period that would shape him both personally and professionally.

“My time at Midland was incredible. I was able to play ball, receive a great education, meet some of my best friends in the world, and have the time of my life. It was exactly what I needed to set me on a path that would end up providing me with the life of my dreams. Midland will always have a special place in my heart. All these years later, it’s still a great day to be a Warrior.”
