The Midland University men’s powerlifting team won the 2019 University World Cup in Tartu, Estonia. They ran away with the men’s title, with a score of 41. The second place team notched 23 points. The women's team took 5th place at the event. Midland lifter Austin Perkins won the Best Lifter of the entire tournament, breaking two collegiate world records in the squat and deadlift.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) students recently represented Midland University at the competitive PBL National Leadership Conference. Midland representatives included Kaitlynn Simon, Dylan Laufer, Mackenzie Bertolas, Seth Strudthoff, and Jonathan Quintanilla. The business students attended workshops, competed in events, and networked with other college scholars from across the country.
Thanks to all who attended LutherFest 2019 and joined in celebrating Luther Academy and College! Worship and camaraderie, along with beautiful singing, a mouthwatering smorgasbord, and a traditional maypole were highlights of the weekend!
Katie Chatters recently joined the Midland staff as Annual Giving Officer. For the past ten years, she worked for the Nebraska Legislature. She met her husband, Dr. Lawrence Chatters, '02, at Midland, they have two daughters, and live in Omaha.
