James A. Ladd, 78, of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Fremont. He was born January 8, 1948, in Fremont to Eugene "Jack" and Irene (Bjornberg) Ladd.

James grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1966 and then graduated from Midland College. He taught at Boys Town in Omaha. James and his brother Jerry were in several bands, most notably he was the longtime lead singer for the Brãkmen, a 60's rock n roll band with Jerry on the drums.

James is survived by his significant other, Kristy Miller; brother, Jerry Ladd and fiancé, Glenda McGillicuddy all of Fremont and his daughter, Jenessa. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ginger Daub.

Memorial Service will be held 1:30 P.M., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. There will be also a celebration of life later this summer.
