Lovina MackLovina W. Mack passed away September 1, 2026 in Canon City, Colorado. She was born March 11, 1938, in Crawford, Nebraska, to Roy and Nina Mahlman. After completing high school in Sidney, Nebraska, she attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska, graduating summa cum laude in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Lovina married Gordon Mack on September 11, 1965. They were blessed with a daughter, Diane.

Lovina enjoyed a varied career as an educator. After teaching English, Speech and Drama, she returned to graduate school, earning a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley in 1970. She served as a counselor at Canon City High School and Canon City Junior High School before her family relocated to Clovis, New Mexico, in 1985, where she was director of counseling at Clovis Community College. She then directed student services at the college for eight years, retiring as vice president for student services in 1999.

After retirement, Lovina and Gordon returned to Canon City, where she enjoyed her involvement at Christ Episcopal Church, especially with the Altar Guild. Her other interests included traveling, reading, attending theatre productions, and spending time with Gordon and daughter Diane and her family. Serving others was especially important to Lovina, and she sought ways to assist and improve the lives of others.

Lovina is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughter, Diane Kricker and her husband Jim; and grandson, Ryan Kricker. She is also survived by four younger brothers - Larry, Stan, Lance, and Lonnie - and their families.
