She then attended the University of Nebraska Medical College in Omaha receiving a Medical Technology degree.

She married Ormal Saathoff in 1958 and joined him in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she became employed at Butterworth Hospital now Spectrum as a Medical Technologist. During their life together there were many long distance moves in Michigan, Nebraska and Iowa keeping Margie busy establishing homes in new places. In retirement there was a move to Sun Lakes, Arizona. Margie’s world revolved around her family, as a mother, spouse, and a homemaker with love and caring. Her sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew her. She had many interests over the years with the latest hobby in the art of stamping; she also was a reader, bowler, and golfer and enjoyed singing in church choirs.
