Marilyn BarberMarilyn Barber was born November 18, 1939 in Aurora, Nebraska and died December 21, 2020 at Lakeside Hospital. Proceeded in death by mother and father Maurice and Iola Lantzer, sister Carol Dyck. Survived by husband of 59 years, Russell Barber. Her children Sonya, Stan (Theresa), Kent (Tari), Jay (Sara) and Sena. Her ten grandchildren, Taran (Erica), Tember (Avery), Haley (Stephen), Emily, Reid, Andrew, Lily, Ryan, Jaynie, Ezra and great-grandson, Emerson. In addition, her four brothers, Duane, Lee, Deryl and Merle and one sister, Jan.

After graduating from Aurora High School in 1957, she attended Grace University and graduated from Immanuel School of Nursing.  She worked as a surgical RN for Immanuel until her 2nd child was born. She focused on raising her children for several years. She started a position with Northwestern Bell (CenturyLink) in the mid-70s and retired from the company in 1997.

Marilyn married Russell Barber on August 5, 1961 in Aurora, Nebraska. They lived in Omaha, for six years then moved to the home in Ralston, Nebraska. They attended and served in their churches, first Harvey Oaks Baptist and then Westside. Many of their life-long friendships were formed in their church community.

Marilyn was devoted to loving and caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and many friends. She was a gifted cook and baker, creative seamstress and quilter, and very much enjoyed hosting gatherings in her home. She enjoyed annual autumn vacations in Branson, Missouri and she was an avid Husker football and volleyball fan.
