The Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association met for their annual business meeting on April 18, 2026.

A recap of the Association’s happenings since the last meeting on April 12, 2025:

• The very successful 100-year anniversary celebration of the Association was held on April 12, 2025.
• Six junior nursing students were each awarded a $550.00 scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year.  
• The amount of $10,000 was donated to the MU Health Science Faculty campaign and designated for naming rights. 
• Two members of the board represented the Association at the pinning ceremony for the nursing graduates in May 2025, presenting a rose, letter of congratulations, and a complimentary one-year Alumni Association membership.
• During May 2025, Nurses Week, flowering plants were delivered to MU School of Nursing faculty members and staff with appreciation for their dedicated service.   
• A monetary memorial of over $2000.00 was given for a nursing alumnus by their Midland University nursing alumnus spouse and family and designated for the purchase of Hungry Man manikin for the School of Nursing.
• Two members of the board represented the association at the Laying-on-of Hands Commitment Ceremony held October 3.  The nursing students were presented with a “God Grant me Serenity” prayer journal.
• In October, small goodie bags were delivered individually to 56 nursing students on the MU campus by four board members and Evan. 
• One board member participated in the Student and Alumni Nursing Day in October.
• Two alumni members role-played for the Stroke Simulation Lab for senior nursing students in November.
• A member of the board represented the association at the MU Scholarship Luncheon in April.
• Condolence letters were sent to the families of nursing alumni known to have died since the last Nursing Alumni Reunion, April 2025.
• The Executive Board, along with Evan Hunt, planned the 2026 Alumni Luncheon and Reunion to renew friendships and memories. 
• As per by-laws, the board met quarterly in April, July, October and January to plan and coordinate all these activities. The membership approved updates to the IMNAA Constitution and Bylaws. 

Four members of the Executive Board of the Alumni Association were elected to two-year terms as following: Susan Bender, Lisa Benson-DeVries, Julie Frederick and Joan Wellensiek.

A $550.00 scholarship was awarded for the 2026-2027 academic year to each of three junior nursing students. 

The next Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association meeting is set for Saturday, April 17, 2027, at Midland University.
