He is also survived by his son, Radley Monson (fiancé Tiffany Lowery) of Bloomington, and his daughter, Maura Monson of Bloomington; five grand pups, Sparky, Ellie, Loki, Westley and Freya; his sister, Diane (Keith) Paseka of Fremont, Nebraska, two brothers, Phil Monson of Olathe, Kansas and Steve Monson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Joan Sterns of Lincoln, Nebraska and sister-in-law, JoLane Moler of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Tim taught at Parkside Junior High School for over thirty years.  He taught 8th grade science and also coached football and wrestling at Normal Community West High School.  In retirement, Tim was enjoying many things, including fishing, mowing, messing with his cacti and other plants, playing video games, and spending time with his pups.  He thought he could fix anything, all he needed was his diet coke, smokes, you-tube and some duct tape.

Tim enjoyed lively conversations and debates, and any conversation could become a teaching moment. He always had a pen, peppermint lifesavers, pocketknife and a Diet Coke with him.  While he loved his children, his favorite baby was his truck.

The family cabin on South Long Lake near Brainard, Minnesota was always a constant in his life as he spent many summers with his family there growing up.  Tim was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
