Today is #GivingTuesday and Midland University is thrilled to be participating on this day dedicated to encouraging philanthropy and celebrating generosity worldwide. We are also excited to share that the City of Fremont has proclaimed November 27, 2018 #GivingTuesday and Mayor Scott Getzschman will be making a special announcement about this at the November 27th Fremont City Council meeting. Midland Announces New Residence Hall Construction

As part of a phased campus investment to create comfortable, contemporary spaces for students, Midland University recently announced plans for the construction of a new residence hall to replace Men’s Memorial Hall.

Miller Hall will be named after James W. Miller and Donna (Johanson) Miller, whose generous estate gift laid the foundation for replacing Men’s Memorial Hall. The new structure will provide 98 beds and will take shape in the same footprint as the existing hall, with construction beginning in early spring of 2019 and completion expected by fall of 2020.

Dr. Lawrence Chatters, '02 Named as New Vice President for Student Affairs

Midland University recently announced that Dr. Lawrence Chatters has been appointed as the new Vice President for Student Affairs, effective January 7, 2019. Dr. Chatters’ acceptance follows a national search and intensive vetting of an ample pool of well-qualified candidates. “Lawrence’s diverse professional experience brings a different, broader perspective to Midland than others might have,” said Midland University President, Jody Horner. “He is a gifted educator and we are thrilled to have him join our staff.”

Rico Munn, '93 Honored as Colorado Superintendent of the Year

Aurora Public Schools Superintendent Rico Munn has been named the 2019 Colorado Superintendent of the Year. The Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE) recently announced the prestigious selection. Read more about Munn's award in this story. Munn's commencement speech last May also inspired Midland's new video about what it means to be a Warrior. Check out the video today!

Shepard has applied his strengths and welcomed opportunities to enhance his knowledge and skills, and has carved out a career path and a life he wants to build.

Do You Know a Future Warrior?

Refer a student to take the next step and discover the Midland experience by scheduling a campus visit. Students will learn firsthand about scholarships, see our brand-new student dining and commons areas, meet with professors, art directors, coaches, and find out what it means to be a Warrior.  Students who schedule a campus visit by January 31st will receive a $4,000 campus visit grant and a free hoodie.

'The Star of Bethlehem' Planetarium Show Planned

A longtime holiday tradition is again returning to Midland University's Lueninghoener Planetarium. Join us on Friday, December 14th at 7:00 p.m. or Sunday, December 16th at 3:00 p.m. for a special full-dome showing of the "The Star of Bethlehem."  Seating is limited to 70 per show and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Lueninghoener Planetarium is located in the Swanson Hall of Science at 798 N. Irving Ave., Fremont, NE. There is no admission charge.
