Those are the first words you will likely hear when his name is brought up.
Starting in the late 1950s, Lyle served the community through Hemingford public schools, first as a junior high English teacher and later as the high school principal until his retirement from the district in 1996.
“Lyle kept me out of trouble when I was a kid 80 years ago,” Steve Morava, Hemingford High School Girls’ basketball coach, said with a half-chuckle during his opening remarks at the athletic banquet Tuesday. “He still cares about the kids in the community, and that’s why my biggest thank you is to him. He’s been on course with all the kids over the years. His heart has always been in the right place, and it still is today.”LY
Lyle Fodnes long service to the Hemingford public school system and The Hemingford Ledger has earned him the moniker "Mr. Hemingford."
