The Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association met in person for their quarterly meeting on Friday, August 28, 2023

Dr. Tesa Keeling, Dean for the School of Nursing, was introduced.  Dr. Keeling has replaced Dr. Linda Quinn who retired in July.

Board activities since the last meeting:

• Three members of the Executive Board volunteered to be patients for the sophomore nursing students to practice their assessment skills.
• Two members of the Executive Board represented Alumni Association at the pinning ceremony on May 5, 2023.  Twenty-nine senior nursing students were present to receive their pins. A red rose and a letter of congratulation including a one-year membership in the Alumni Association was given to each graduate present.  A total of thirty-one nursing students graduated in 2023.
• In honor and recognition of the importance of their role in the education and development of nursing students, a potted geranium was given to each Midland University nursing faculty member and Administrative Coordinator in celebration of Nurses Week 2023.
• The first quarterly newsletter was distributed via email on May 1, 2023, to the Alumni membership.  The second quarterly newsletter is scheduled to be distributed in August.

The spring Alumni celebration and annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the Private Dining Rooms at Midland University Dining Hall.

Plans continue to be made for the 100th Year Celebration of the Immanuel-Midland Alumni Association to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Wikert Center on the campus of Midland University.  More information will be forthcoming.

Next Executive Board Meeting is scheduled for October 13, 2023.
