Alice Wiggains Hoschar '54

Alice M. HoscharAlice Marie (Wiggains) Hoschar was the middle daughter of Roy and Eriz Wiggains (older sister Roberta, younger sister Shirley). She was born and raised in Wakefield, Nebraska, where she had a World-Herald paper route, played the drums and loved playing tennis with her dad. Her parents taught her to know and love Jesus, and she made Him her Lord and Savior and has served Him her entire life.

After high school, Alice graduated from Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing, and practiced nursing at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. It was there that a certain patient, named Billy, asked her out on a date. They were married in April of 1957, and have made their home in Bellevue for their entire married lives.

Alice dearly loved her husband, children (and their spouses!), grandchildren (and their spouses!) and great grandchildren. While her 3 children were in high school at Bellevue East, she worked in the school cafeteria (and they, and their friends, enjoyed having her there). She loved flowers, walking, teddy bears and sports, especially Nebraska Husker football and volleyball.

Alice and Bill joined Calvary Christian Church in 1971 when it was a new church meeting in Bellevue College. They have been members ever since, and invested countless hours serving in various church ministries, often involving young people.

The last several years, Alice and Bill resided at Heritage Ridge assisted living community, where they befriended, and were loved by, many residents and staff members. Preceded in death by her parents Roy and Eriz Wiggains; sister Roberta Hollman. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Billy; children Sally Younker (Larry), Shawn Hoschar (Linda), Robin Bower (Roger); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Norris (Charles); nieces and nephews.
