You are an dedicated supporter of Midland University. You attend every athletic event you can. You cheer on Midland students and connect with alumni whenever possible. Making an annual gift, no matter how large or how small, is the perfect way to help the university you love—right now, and for years to come.
Gifts of securities, including closely held stock and mutual funds may be donated to Midland University.
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) a giving tool that provides a simple, flexible, and efficient way to manage your charitable giving, and can be an alternative to direct giving or creating a private foundation. This is accomplished by first establishing a DAF with an irrevocable gift to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program, such as a community foundation. The donor then recommends the allocation of the donated assets to a qualified public charity (such as Midland University).
With matching gifts, you may sometimes double or even triple your gift. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable gifts made by their employees.
Honor or memorialize a friend or loved one by giving a gift in his or her honor or memory. Honorees or their families will be notified of your donation.
A gift of tangible personal property, such as a work or collection of art, rare books, stamp or coin collection, etc., entitles the donor to a charitable deduction based on the full fair market (appraised) value of the gift if the gift complies with the standard of “related use” regarding the designation at and use by Midland University.
Midland University partners with Lutheran Giving to assist donors in exploring and executing charitable intentions in the most efficient and satisfying manner for the donor, their heirs and Midland. Through the creative planning process, charitable giving strategies are incorporated within comprehensive estate plans to fulfill philanthropic goals, reduce income taxes, avoid capital gains and possible estate taxes, retain a life income, increase spendable income, and/or reduce the costs of estate settlement, all while enjoying the satisfaction of providing significant future financial support for Midland University.
