Allaya Livingston ‘26 | Woman of Midland
Allaya Livingston is no stranger to hard work. Ever since she was a little girl, she was determined to reach her goals. In her senior year of high school, she played five sports, and excelled in all. Of all these opportunities, Allaya found herself at a flag football event during the last few weeks of high school. This one event would change her life and she received over five offers to play flag football at a collegiate level. “I had never played in any other football events”. Taking the leap to play on Midland’s flag football team meant that Allaya would be entering a team surrounded by more experience and knowledge. That bold move has paid off because it’s taught her to never be afraid to step out of her comfort zone. It can be difficult to find the courage to do so, but the results are worth it. This experience has boosted Allaya’s self confidence and she knows she’s more capable than she ever thought she could be. As a work study in the Office of Institutional Advancement at Midland, Allaya is constantly pushed out of her comfort zone. Her work study supervisor, Emma Oborny ‘19 describes Allaya as “a bold, hardworking, and enthusiastic young woman who always has a smile on her face. She stepped out of her comfort zone many times as a work study in the Advancement Office. She was very professional when she made calls to donors during a campaign. She even helped secure a couple gifts!”
Being offered a scholarship to play flag football means the world to Allaya. “I had never planned to go to college. I planned to serve in the Air Force. Getting the opportunity to continue to play sports and earn a degree is something I will always be grateful for.”
