Ardythe Jacquot

Ardythe Jacquot

Ardythe (Ardy) Marie Jacquot, 84, passed away on September 28, 2021, in Martin. Ardy was born on June 30, 1937 in St. Paul, Minn.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Thomas Jacquot, Martin; sister Nancy O’Connell, Laura, Ohio; children Aileen McQuarrie (Gary), New Hope, Pa., and Andrew Grimm, Sandpoint, Idaho; and grandchildren Austin Grimm, Chicago, Ill., Trevor Grimm, Ft. Collins, Colo., Anna McQuarrie, San Diego, Calif., and Katherine McQuarrie, Los Angeles, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Alice Shade and her sister Carol Tomlinson.

Ardy grew up throughout the United States and her family eventually settled in Albuquerque, N.M., where she graduated from Highland High School in 1955. She attended Midland Lutheran College (now Midland University) in Fremont, Neb., for 2 years, then focused on raising her family. She eventually graduated from Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Neb., with an associates degree in Business Finance. She worked for the College for many years in the business office and very much enjoyed connecting with the students. Ardy met her husband, Tom, through their mutual love of country music and dancing. They were married on October 15, 1993, in Rapid City, and lived in Tuthill and eventually Martin from that point on.

Ardy was a loving wife and mother as well as an avid reader who also enjoyed playing bridge and quilting and was an expert at crochet. Despite her severe hearing loss, Ardy truly loved all types of music, but especially enjoyed country music because she loved to dance, a love she especially shared with her son. She could often be seen unconsciously swinging her hips to the beat of a favorite song while cooking or working around the home. She came from humble beginnings and was tremendously proud of her children and grandchildren. She had a wonderful smile, a great laugh and sense of humor, and was a good friend to anyone who needed a hand. Her family and friends have been blessed to know her and she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service celebrating Ardy’s life will held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Martin, on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bennett County Hospital and Nursing Home.
