Arlene L. Witt, 87, of Scribner died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Fremont Health Medical Center.
Arlene was born Jan. 24, 1930, to Charles and Blazina (Belina) Kander at the Schuyler Hospital. She attended District 32 School in Stanton County, graduated from Howells High School in 1947, attended Wayne State Teachers College and finished her degree at Midland College (now University) in 1968. She taught school for 30 years in Coon Rapids, Iowa, West Point, Districts 12 and 27 in rural Dodge County, and the Scribner-Snyder School District. She married Mylo Witt on June 1, 1952. Arlene was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner.
Survivors include: daughter, Cynthia Kreikemeier of Snyder; grandchildren, Katrina (Ricardo) Puopolo of Gretna, Tyler (Jessica) Kreikemeier of Valley and Nathan (Friend Taylor Huppert) Kreikemeier of Lincoln; and great-grandchildren, Brynn and Claire Kreikemeier and Blake and Lyla Puopolo.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Mylo in 1994; son, Galen in 1972; parents; and brother, Delaine.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner, the Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Ludvigsen’s Scribner Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the church.
