Bonnie Wobken

Bonnie B. Wobken, age 84, of Hooper died Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Hooper Care Center.

Bonnie was born November 4, 1937 to Fred and Mildred ‘Robeson’ Wiley in Keya Paha County, Nebraska on the family farm.  She moved to Bassett at the age of 5 and lived there until she was 16, when the family moved to Uehling.  In 1955 she graduated from Uehling High School.  After attending classes at Midland Lutheran College, she taught school in Rural Dodge County for three years.

She married Elwood Wobken on November 25, 1956, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this year.  She was an active member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Hooper.  She enjoyed quilting, she was an active member in the Uehling American Legion Auxiliary, belonged to the book club in Hooper and served on the Library Board.  Bonnie was employed at the Logan View Public Schools for 17 years.

Husband – Elwood of Hooper

Daughters – Darcy(David) Neesen of Stafford, VA., Susan (Jay) Kment of Schuyler

Sons – Daniel (Laurie) Wobken of Hooper, David (Brooke) Wobken of Hooper

Brother – Jim (Mary Lou) Wiley of Sun City, AZ.

10 grandchildren – Brandon(Amber) Wobken, Jason(Stephanie) Wobken, Ryan Wobken, Megan(Aaron) Kleensang, Maggie and D.J. Wobken, Lauren(Jake) Schupner, Abby(Mike) Neesen-Bentz, Jess(Beka) and Jake(Bethany) Kment.

13 great grandchildren

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and infant granddaughter Makayla Wobken

Visitation will be Monday, December 13, 2021 at Ludvigsen’s Hooper Funeral Chapel from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm.  The funeral will be 10:30am, Tuesday, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Hooper with the Rev. Judith Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the church, Hooper Rescue Squad and the Hooper Care Center.
