North Bend Central High School Principal, Brenda Petersen '92, was recently recognized as the Region 2 High School Principal of the Year. Petersen was awarded by the Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals (NSASSP), an affiliate of the Nebraska Council of School Administrators (NCSA).
In her time as principal in North Bend, Petersen oversaw a shift of the school’s middle school program. The district changed from a 7-8th grade junior high to a 6-7th grade middle school with 8-12th grade junior and senior high. She received her bachelor’s degree from Midland Lutheran College, now Midland University, and her master’s degree from Doane University with a specialist degree from Wayne State College.
She is originally from West Point and her family includes her husband Schawn and three children Mason, Jaxon and Reese.
