Love Story: The love story.... sit back and enjoy the ride..... SOOOOOOO.... it all started on Warrior Welcome Days on a hot summery day in 2007.... I initially met Evan's roommate who so kindly invited me down to the green for a slip in slide. There was a whopping 4 people there and one of them so happened to be...... you guessed it.... Evan Hoisington. We exchanged some words had a nice introduction. Then quickly went our separate ways. Fast forward 2 months, here we are at the Midland homecoming dance. Enjoying the night, dancing with friends and before I know it, what's happening, I'm dancing the night away with a cutie who....... you guessed it.... was Evan Hoisington. We exchanged numbers that evening, but needless to say once again, we both went our separate ways. "Que music from Journey" So.... throughout freshman year we definitely weren't strangers as we had many of the same friends, we joined brother/sister sororities/fraternities (Phi O You Know!... oh and Kappa Phi), and needless to say the eye tag/catching each other looking at the other game was STRONG. Towards the end of our freshman year the stars aligned and Evan asked to go for a walk.... and let me tell you, it was a walk to remember... Throughout this "three?" hour walk we found out we had many of the same interests, future plans, and well what can I say... Chemistry! Too bad it took us an entire year to finally go for our walk.... haha, needless to say, as cliché as it sounds, the rest is history. Sophomore year we both lived in Gundy.... him on the 3rd floor me on the 2nd.... we both lived off campus Junior year... fast forward a whole lot of good times with each other and our friends.... Which brings us now to the summer before senior year. Evan took me for a walk on the bridge in Omaha.... ya you know the bridge, the one crossing from Nebraska to Iowa... and proposed to me "in two places at once" (revert back to the "a walk to remember"). Obviously I screamed yes, and we spent Senior year planning our wedding, as we graduated together from Midland May of 2011 and were married in July 2011.
Here we are almost 8 years married, we live in Lenexa Kansas, I am a nurse practitioner, Evan is a 6th grade math teacher and high school basketball coach. Living the dream with our two beautiful children, Colton (age 5) and Lydia (age 2). We often think back to Midland days, some of the best days we will never forget... and are so grateful for what those years and Midland University brought us.
