Carol Carlson, 69, of Allen, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 at her home.
Services will be held Friday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Allen. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Allen with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery at Allen.
Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Allen.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Carol Ann Lippolt Carlson was born Nov. 26, 1948 to William H. and Marion R. (Peters) Lippolt in Wakefield. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Allen where she was a life-long member. Carol Ann grew up on a farm north of Allen until 1962, when her father passed away from leukemia. She graduated from Allen High School in 1967, and attended Midland Lutheran College. Carol married Lyle Vern Carlson at the First Lutheran Church in Allen on April 13, 1969. They then moved to Fort Rucker, Ala. for six months while Lyle was in Army Aviator School. The couple farmed north of Wakefield for five years, before moving to Martinsburg in March of 1976. Carol was active in the Sand Hill Club, Thrivent Lutheran, church council, Sunday School Superintendent, and Ladies Circle. She worked in several banks over the years as a head teller, at Service Master of Siouxland and then SBI General & Mechanical in Waterbury. She ran a ceramic shop out of their basement for many years and enjoyed making beautiful pieces to give to people. She greatly enjoyed the teaching opportunity that the shop provided her as well.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle; daughter, Stephanie, her husband, Paul DeBoer of Ankeny, Iowa; daughter, Stacy and her husband, Mark McKain of Gretna; four grandchildren, Heidi and William DeBoer, and Emily and Luke McKain.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father.
