Carol J. (Kniep) Snover, age 85, of North Bend, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in Fremont. She was born December 18, 1934 in rural Kennard, NE to Henry and Verna (Kuhr) Kniep.

Carol was raised in rural Washington County. She received her BA Degree from Midland College. Carol married Clayton Snover on May 31, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington, NE. She was an Elementary teacher in Washington, Saunders, and Dodge Counties for 34 years, retiring in 1991.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend since 1953. A member of the Stewardship Board, Piecemakers Quilters, Ladies Aid and LWML, and the library treasurer for many years. For 20 years, Carol was involved with the extension club in North Bend. She donated over 156 units of blood to the American Red Cross. They wintered in Texas for many years. They were avid square and polka dancers.

Carol is survived by her husband, Clayton; son, Terry Snover; daughter, Lynette (Rick) Elofson all of North Bend, NE, daughter, Denise (Stu) Essman of Lincoln, NE; brother, Thomas (Fayne) Kniep of Poplar Grove, Il; brother-in-law, Mark (Nancy) Snover of Stuart, NE; sister-in-law, Judith Snover of Fremont; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren , and 2 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents -in-law, Sylvester and Amanda Snover; and sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Curtis Dockweiler; grand son-in-law, Stacy Milligan; nephew, Russell Dockweiler.

Funeral service 10:30 AM, Monday, August 10, 2020 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8PM at Moser’s in North Bend. Interment will follow service at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.
