Brad led the Bondurant Farrar high School baseball team to its second straight state baseball tournament first time in school history. He also earned his 300th career victory at Bondurant and his 383rd win overall.

Carolyn was married to John on September 2, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Omaha. Carolyn and John knew each other from high school. He was a year ahead of her but they knew of each other from their younger brothers in the grade below her and it was a smaller school.
