Midland University is proud to recognize three individuals who, between them, have given more than 100 years of service to Midland University and its students.
Dr. Janet Lack and Doug...
Elizabeth "Beth" Grammes, of Bellevue, NE, journeyed to the arms of Christ on August 30, 2017. Beth was born in Mt. Clemons, MI, on September 24, 1961. Beth graduated from Bellevue West High School in 1979 and continued on to receive her degree in Physical Education from Midland Lutheran College in 1983. Although she worked as a teacher in the Bellevue Public School system, Beth was most recently employed by Creighton University in Central Receiving. She received the 2007 Ignatian Award Citation. On campus, Beth was known as the "Mail Lady." She did her job with loyalty, dedication, and care, packaged with exuberance, sensitivity, warmth, directness, and humble honesty. Beth was a friend indeed for anyone in need. She loved her family and part of that family was extended to dogs as well. If you knew Beth, you will remember her wit. Beth is survived by her parents, Richard and Connie Grammes; her brother, Michael (Becky); her sister, Kathy (James); and six nieces and nephews, and six grandnieces and nephews. The family of Beth wishes to thank the friends who supported Beth on her journey, to thank Creighton University and Nebraska Medicine for their assistance and support, and to the Josie Harper Hospice House for lovingly supporting Beth as she transitioned to her heavenly home. MEMORIAL SERVICE at St. John's Church at Creighton University on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Creighton University, Hereditary Cancer Center. Mark the funds to be donated to the colon cancer research of Dr. Henry Lynch.
