The life and music of Wahoo’s own Howard Hanson, who attended Luther College, will come to stage this May during a two-day event at the Wahoo High School Performance-Learning Center.
American Classical Pianist and Guest Lecturer Scott Watkins will be in Wahoo May 4 and 5 to not only share the life and music of Wahoo born and raised Hanson, but to also gather more information for a book he is writing about him.
On Friday, May 4, Watkins will give a lecture featuring Hanson’s early life and career at 10 a.m. at the Wahoo High School Performance-Learning Center. Both events are open to the public.
He will return to the stage on Saturday, May 5 for a 7 p.m. concert. The concert will feature piano music of Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt and, of course, Hanson.
