Harold E. Meyer '72
Harold E. Meyer was born on September 28, 1949 in Oakland, Nebraska to Kermit and Grace Meyer. He was one of three sons in the Meyer family. Harold was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church— Swaburg, southeast of Uehling, Neb.
He graduated from Uehling High School and Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Neb. Following graduation, he worked for Lee Tire as salesman out of Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Minneapolis, Minn., where he worked in sales at tire and auto service stores there. From there Harold returned to Uehling to operate the local café, and later moved to Norfolk, Neb. before retiring in Carson City, Nevada. He died on Sept. 14, 201 at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nev.
Preceding Harold in death were his parents, Kermit and Grace Meyer and his brother, Roger Meyer. He is survived by his brother, Rev. John (Fran) Meyer of Coralville, Iowa; sister-in-law, Ellen Meyer of Salina, Kansas; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A committal service will be held for Harold at Elim Lutheran Church, 2312 Swaburg Road, Hooper, Neb. on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Judy Johnson will officiate. Lunch and fellowship will follow in the church parlors.
