Highlights of Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Board Meeting, March 9, 2021

Five members of the Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Board, along with two ex officio members met virtually March 9, 2021.  It was noted that condolence letters were sent to the families of recently deceased nursing alumnae, Janis Haggstrom and Fern Bartsch Ewert.  Also, letters of congratulations were sent to alumnae, Kristin Harris and Jodi Kneisel.

The Midland University Nursing Commitment Ceremony (comparable to “capping ceremony” of yore) has been rescheduled from March 2021 to the fall due to COVID.  Members of the Alumni Board will participate.

The majority of the meeting time was spent further planning the virtual nursing alumni celebration on April 24.  Kristen Drake led the discussion of tentative program agenda, participants, technical logistics, preparation already completed, and things yet to be done to have an effective and successful virtual celebration.  Information from survey responses and input from board members was utilized.  Kristen will continue to work to complete all the details and facilitate.  She also reported on the current registration numbers and dues payments.  The board noted the importance of dues for the continuance of alumni celebrations, scholarships, and support from Midland University.

The board expressed appreciation to Kristen for her leadership and planning of the virtual nursing alumni celebration.
