Hosea & Lily Harkness Agribusiness Scholarship

Hosea & Lily Harkness Agribusiness Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Hosea Harkness to honor his late wife and Midland graduate, Lily, as well as Hosea's agricultural business career. Lily was a renowned porcelain artist and teacher. Hosea was an analytical statistician for the USDA Crop Reporting Service and later developed objective yield and statistical techniques that could be used to forecast crop yields and production. He also ran his own agribusiness consulting firm and traveled to 28 foreign countries throughout his career. The scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Agribusiness or an ag related major.
