Ida C. Ehlers '46

Ida Ehlers, of Omaha, died on April 29, 2019 at the of age 94. She was born to parents Emil and Esther Erickson, June 25, 1924, in Mead, Nebraska. Ida graduated from Mead High School and received B.A. in Nursing from Midland Lutheran College. Ida married the late John Killough Sr. in 1948. In 1982, Ida married the late L. Jack Ehlers. Jack and Ida lived together in Durant, Iowa, and Omaha. Ida is survived by five children from her first marriage: Sue Hill, of Omaha, Richmond Killough of Fremont, John (Kris) Killough Jr. of Omaha, Joan (Lindsay) Ehlers of Palm Coast, Florida, and James (Deb) Killough of Omaha; and four step-children from her second marriage: Sheila (Ken) Sipe of Covington, Georgia, Lonnie (Melanie) Ehlers of Durant, Iowa, Monty (Sharon) Ehlers of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Lindsay (Joan) Ehlers of Palm Coast, Florida. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The VISITATION and FUNERAL will be held Friday May 3, 2019, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4117 Terrace Dr. In Omaha. The Visitation from 10-11am, the Funeral will be at 11am. The BURIAL will take place following the funeral luncheon at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fremont, Nebraska. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
