Ila Johanna Waldron, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Midlands Living Center.

Ila was born April 14,1942, in Carroll, IA, to the late Lester and Esther Rasmussen. She graduated from Jennie Edmundson Nursing School in 1963, and later received her BSN from Midland University in Fremont, NE. Ila served her community at Jennie Edmundson Hospital for 47 years before retiring. Ila was united in marriage on September 12, 1964, to Terry V. Waldron and raised sons, Phillip and Christopher.

Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, knitting, and using her green thumb. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and while living at Primrose, she served as an Ambassador. Ila loved her time at Primrose and later at Midlands Living Center where she received excellent care.

In addition to her parents, Ila is preceded in death by her husband, Terry, of 59 years.

Survivors include sons, Phillip, of Monroe, NC, Christopher and Maribel Phoenix, of Belchertown, MA; six grandchildren, Jonathon, Jonah, Noah, Dillon, Alex and Jade; four great-grandchildren, Marcel, Annelise, Maeve, and Mason; brother, Karl Rasmussen and Delores and their daughters, Joni, Julie, and Karen; niece, Rhonda; nephews, Don, Mike, Bob and Tom Waldron.

Visitation, Saturday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by Funeral service at 10:30 a.m., all at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home.

Ila will be laid to rest with husband, Terry, in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Walnut Hill Reception Center.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ, 400 Cloverdale Drive, or Mohm's Place 1435 N. 15th St.
