A familiar face will be patrolling the sidelines as Scottsbluff High School’s next head football coach this fall.

After spending the past eight years as an assistant, Jud Hall, '01, has been named Joe Benson’s successor. Benson stepped down as the Bearcats’ head coach in January.

Hall has been Scottsbluff’s offensive coordinator for the past six years. Prior to that, he was the team’s defensive coordinator after joining the staff in 2010.

“It comes with a lot of responsibility and a lot of expectations to maintain the level of excellence our program has been at,” Hall said of his new position. “I’ve got a great group of kids to work with and great coaches standing beside me. It’s going to be an exciting opportunity.”
