Growing up in Fontanelle, politics weren't at the forefront of Lynne Walz's mind. Instead, she was busy helping on her family's hog farm, lugging buckets of feed along with her brother.
"It's nothing I ever thought I would do in my life," said Walz, who's is now a part of Nebraska's political scene as a state senator. Now, she's hoping to trade in that title for that of Nebraska lieutenant governor.
State Sen. and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bob Krist recently introduced Walz as his running mate for the May 15 primary during a stop in Fremont.
