MarJean Jacobson Guderian L'50
MarJean D. Guderian – age 89, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Arlington Place in Pocahontas, Iowa.
MarJean Delores Jacobson was born August 19, 1931, in Sac City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Reuben and Elsie (Hetland) Jacobson. She graduated from Boxholm High School and went on to attend college. On December 23, 1951, MarJean was united in marriage to Frederick “Fritz” Guderian in Boxholm. The couple settled near Gilmore City where they farmed. In October of 1988, they moved to Pocahontas where MarJean worked as a receptionist at the Farm Bureau. She then worked at the ASCS office in Pocahontas until retiring in the mid 1990’s. Fritz passed away in December of 1991.
MarJean was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Ladies Circle. She volunteered at the Pocahontas Community Hospital and the Meals on Wheels. MarJean enjoyed quilting, traveling and especially the time spent with her family.
Survivors include her son, David Sr. (Ellen) Guderian of Omaha, NE; two grandsons, David Jr. (Amber) Guderian of Omaha, NE and their children, Clara and Corban and Bret (Stewart) Guderian of Omaha, NE and their daughter, Lula; a granddaughter, Paige Guderian (fiancée, Todd Heatherington) of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Vivian Jacobson and Margaret Jacobson and a step-brother, Bob (Lavonne) Condon.
MarJean was preceded in death by her parents; step-mom, Thelma; husband, Fritz; infant twin daughters, Donna Sue and Janet Marie; great-grandson, Caleb Guderian; brothers, Russell Jacobson and Lowell Jacobson and a step-brother, Jack Condon.
