Midland University welcomed five new members into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame during Homecoming 2019.

Clint J. Eikmeier, ’04, was a standout in Football and Baseball at Midland from 2000-2004.  On the football field, Clint set an all-time Midland record for total tackles in a career with 387, a record that still stands.  As a linebacker, Clint was a 4 time All-GPAC performer, earning Honorable Mention honors in 2000, 2nd team honors in 2001, and 1st team honors in 2002 and 2003.  In addition to his 387 career tackles, Clint also recorded 9 quarterback sacks, 4 fumble recoveries, and 5 interceptions for his career.  He earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 2002 and 2003. In the spring, Clint focused his attention on baseball. As a catcher, Clint was a 3 time All-GPAC performer, earning Honorable Mention honors in 2001 and 2003 and 2nd team honors in 2002.  He had a career batting average of .362, going 152/420 at the plate.  He also recorded a total of 29 doubles, 5 triples, 10 homeruns, 95 RBI, and he scored 72 runs.  Clint earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 2003 and 2004 and he was selected the Petrow Award Winner at Midland in 2004.  Clint earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Economics in 2004. In 2006, he earned his CPA license.  He is currently a partner in Trusted Wealth Partners in Omaha. Clint and his wife, Ashley, live in Omaha and they have two children: Kobe and Kreyton. Clint J. Eikmeier is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.

Karen M. Martin, ’86, was a standout in Basketball and Outdoor Track and Field at Midland.  Karen was a Team Captain in Basketball in 1984-85 and 1985-86 and she helped guide Midland to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament in ’85.  Karen was named to the Honorable Mention All-State College Team in ’86 when she averaged 8.8 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. She earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 1985 and 1986.  On the track, Karen qualified for the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet in 1983, ’84, ’85, and ’86, earning NAIA All-America Honors in the Heptathlon in ‘86. At the District Championship Meet, Karen was District Runner-up in the Heptathlon in 1983 and the District Champion in the Heptathlon in 1984, ’85, ‘and ’86.  Additionally, she was the District Champion in the 400 Intermediate Hurdles in ’86. At the conference level, Karen was a 3 time individual champion in the Javelin (’85 and ’86) and the 400 Intermediate Hurdles (’86). Karen currently ranks in the top 10 at Midland in the 400 Meter Hurdles, the High Jump, and the Javelin. She earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 1985 and 1986 and she was named Outstanding Woman Athlete at Midland in 1986.  Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Midland in 1986. She has worked at UPS for the past 32 years and is currently the Business Manager for the St. Joseph, Chillicothe, and Higginsville centers (all in Missouri). Karen and her partner, LaNell Cox, live in Kansas City, MO. Karen M. Martin is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic accomplishments.

Nate Bunton, ’06, was a standout in Baseball at Midland from 2003-2006.  As a pitcher, Nate earned NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2006 when he recorded a season record of 13-3 on the mound.  He also recorded 1 save. For the season, Nate pitched 9 complete games, he had a 2.02 ERA, and he registered 117 strikeouts. He helped guide Midland to a 42-15 overall record and a 20-2 GPAC record in ’06 and he helped guide Midland to the GPAC regular season championship and the GPAC tournament championship.  For his career, Nate pitched 259 2/3 innings and he recorded an overall record of 23-20, a 3.12 ERA, and a total of 277 strikeouts. He notched 18 complete games and appeared in a total of 53 games - 39 as a starter. He currently holds the school record for wins in a season (13), innings pitched in a season (102 1/3), and strikeouts in a season (117).  He also holds the career record at Midland for ERA (3.12) and he ranks in the top 5 at Midland in career wins and career strikeouts. Nate earned 1st Team All-GPAC honors in 2005 and 2006 and 1st Team All-Region honors in 2006.  He earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 2005 and 2006 and he was selected the Petrow Award Winner at Midland in 2006.  In June, 2006, Nate was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 38th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.  He spent two seasons in the minor leagues with Burlington and Mahoney Valley, recording a 1-2 record in 35 games.  He also recorded 11 saves and had a 3.46 ERA. Nate earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Computer Science in 2006. He is currently the Manager of Enterprise Software Development at CSG.  Nate and his wife, Jessica, live in Omaha with their two children: Carter and Alayna. Ann Gramkow Epler, ‘06, was a standout in Track and Field at Midland, establishing herself as one of the premier throwers in Midland history.  At the conclusion of her career at Midland, Ann was a 4 time All-American in Indoor Track in the Shot Put (3rd in ’04 and 2nd in ’06) and the Weight Throw (2nd in ’05 and 4th in ’06). She was also a 4 time All-American in Outdoor Track in the Discus (2nd in ’04), the Shot Put (5th in ’04 and 6th in ’05), and the Hammer Throw (4th in ’06).  At the conference level, Ann earned All GPAC honors a total of 12 times (5 Indoor and 7 Outdoor), including 6 conference individual championships (Indoor Weight Throw in ’05 and ‘06, Indoor Shot Put in ’06,  Outdoor Shot Put in ’04, and Outdoor Discus in ’04 and ’06). Ann holds school records in the Indoor Shot Put (46’2”), the Outdoor Shot Put (46’7 ¾”), the Hammer Throw (171’10”), and the Discus (156’3”). She earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 2005 and 2006.  Ann earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Midland in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Science in 2006. She earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University in 2011. From 2006-2015, she taught science courses at Treynor Public Schools in Treynor, IA.  Ann and her husband, Scott, live in Brock, NE and they have three children: Daniel, Samuel, and Sarabeth. Ann Gramkow Epler is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic accomplishments.

Jef Field served as the Head Baseball Coach at Midland from 1995-2012.  Coach Field coached in a total of 856 games, posting a career record of 402-453-1.  He was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1997, 1998, and 2001. Under Coach Field’s leadership, the Warriors earned regular season championships in 1998 and 2006 and they won conference tournament championships in 1997, 2001, and 2006.  In 1998 and 1999, Midland advanced to the Regional Tournament Championship game, finishing runner-up both years. Overall, Coach Field guided Midland to twelve 20 or more win seasons, including an impressive 42 win season in 2006 – a school record until 2014.  He had the privilege of coaching over 30 1st and 2nd Team All-Conference players during his career at Midland.  Coach Field earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Northern State University (SD) in 1983 and he earned his Master’s Degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, with an emphasis in Psychology, from South Dakota State University in 1993.  Coach Field continues to work at Midland University as a faculty member in the College of Human Performance. He lives in Fremont and has two children: Baylee and Barry. Jef Field is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding service and dedication to Midland Athletics.
