Midland University Announces Groundbreaking Ceremony
Midland University will begin a new chapter of its rich history this spring with a formal groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new residence hall at the institution’s Fremont campus.
In partnership with the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the event is set to take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at nine o’clock in the morning.
The Miller Hall construction manifests the university’s momentous upward trajectory of relentless relevance and represents the next phase of a $50M student experience investment, intentionally designed to provide students comfortable, contemporary spaces that foster their academic success.
The co-ed structure will feature suite-style living, student lounges, study rooms, and laundry facilities on each floor that promote social engagement. The main floor will also offer modern kitchen facilities, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, and outdoor patio. The garden level will uniquely feature an expansive theatre room and fitness center for recreational student entertainment, as well as academic resource utilization.
The new hall is named after the late James W. Miller (Class of ‘52) and Donna (Johanson Miller, whose generous estate gift laid the foundation for this new residence.
