Midland University's Nursing Program Achieves New Heights
Right after high school, Deborah Brester channeled her compassion for others – and an aversion to the idea of an office job – into a decision to become a registered nurse (RN). Her decades-long career has taken her from labor and delivery and surgery to management roles in long-term care, home health and hospice.
“Eventually, I realized that I would need to go back and get my BSN (Bachelor of Science degree in nursing). I had gone as far as I could go without my bachelor’s degree,” Brester says.
In 2010, while working at Fremont Health, the opportunity to earn it arose. Thanks to the collaboration between Fremont Health and Midland University, RNs were provided an opportunity to earn their BSN through Midland’s online RN to BSN.
