Nicole Michelle Frerichs, 35, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, January 23rd, at her home. She graduated from Midland University in 2008 with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising, obtained her Master of Science in Education from UNK in 2010, and earned her Doctorate Degree of Education in Educational Leadership and Higher Education from UNL in 2019. Hayden and Nicole were married on July 19, 2019. She was employed at UNL as an Assistant Dean of Student Success at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. She served as an advisor for Camp Kesem since 2015. She is survived by her husband, Hayden; their beloved dog, Oliver; her parents, Michael (Mindy) Smith, Elizabeth Lindahl (Phillips), and Alan Lindahl; in-laws, Trevor and Teri (Cody and Olyvia); grandparents, Joyce Smith, Gene and Nancy Phillips; siblings, Scott (Rhonda) Lindahl, Jessica (Jeff) Beisner, Jordan (Kamron) Malone, Alyssa Lindahl, Montana (Jeff) Gaston, Joshua Smith, Cody Smith, and Cheyenne Townsley; 9 nieces and nephews; and countless friends. A celebration of Nicole's life will be held on Thursday, January 28th, at 2pm at Horizon Community Church, 3200 Grainger Pkwy in Lincoln. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27th from 6-8pm at the same location. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the family for either Water's Edge Church in Omaha or Camp Kesem UNL.
