Walnut Media has named Brent Wasenius of Fremont as our new News Director for Big Dog 98.9/1340 and The Best Mix 105.5.

Brent joins our radio stations after a 34-year career in the newspaper industry, including 32 with the Fremont Tribune. During his tenure at the Tribune, the Midland University graduate served in a variety of roles, including executive editor, managing-sports editor and sports editor.

Wasenius has earned multiple awards for sports columns, features, sports writing and spot news from The Associated Press and the Nebraska Press Association. The Schuyler native and his wife, Dee, are the parents of three adult daughters and have one granddaughter, Isla.
