Three New Scholarships Established by Midland Alumni

Three new scholarships will be awarded to Midland University students in 2017 thanks to the generous gifts recently made by Midland alumni.
- The Bixby Family Scholarship was established by J.J. and Jennifer Bixby. Both are Midland alumni - J.J. graduated in 1995 and Jennifer graduated in 1997. This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a major in Special Education who have been enrolled or admitted in the Walker School of Education and demonstrate successful academic performance.
- The Dr. Don and Mary Ann Skoog Scholarship was established by Dr. Don Skoog, a 1953 Midland graduate. This scholarship honors a lifetime of service of Dr. Don Skoog in the medical field, and is in memory of Mary Ann Skoog and her service in the medical field. It awarded to students pursuing a career in the medical field, human performance, and/or athletic training.
- The Dr. Harold Conrad Rhea, Class of 1957 Scholarship was established by Dr. Harold Rhea, a 1957 Midland graduate. This scholarship is awarded to a student athlete majoring in education and participating in football, cross country, track and field, or volleyball.
“We are thrilled to now have these scholarships available for Midland students,” Jessica Janssen, VP for Development said. “We are grateful for the generosity of these Midland alumni whose gifts will impact the lives of students for years to come.”
