Gary L. Burns, 71 years, of Arlington, NE, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Omaha.

Gary was born on September 14, 1953, to Nellis and Beverly (Riddell) Burns in Warren, OH. He was a 1971 graduate of Arlington High School. Gary later attended Midland Lutheran College where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He married Eleanor Parrish on January 20, 1973, in Las Vegas, NV. They later divorced.

Gary worked as the service manager at K-mart in Fremont. Gary also worked at Swanson Vending Corporation as an accountant from 1994 until 1998. He spent much of his life in Arlington, NE. In his free time Gary enjoyed boating on the Woodcliff Lakes. 

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Nellis; and stepfather Alton Adams.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly Adams of Arlington; son, Eric Burns of Arlington; daughter, Angela (Keith) Wolken, of Norfolk, NE; brother, Kenneth (Deborah) Burns of  Arlington; sisters, Deborah (Russel) Gibbs of Ohio, half-sister, Alison Adams of Arlington; and grandchildren, Konnor Wolken of Norfolk, and Kasady (Read) Booth of Tekamah, NE; great-grandchild, Charlotte Booth; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. also at the funeral home. 

Burial with military honors will take place at Arlington Cemetery following the funeral service.
