Darrel E. ReussDarrel E. Reuss, 71, of Sloan, Iowa went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 16, 2025.

A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Sloan, Iowa, with Pastor Trent Baker and Reverend Richard Moore, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Darrel's obituary. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. A private family burial will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the church with a 6:30 P.M. prayer service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Darrel was born July 30, 1953 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Gene and Margaret (Erlandson) Reuss. Darrel graduated with a BA from Midland University and later earned his Master of Divinity from Siouxland Christian College and Theological Seminary. He worked as a salesman for many years, selling books for Successful Living, heavy equipment for Construction Rental & Sales, his dad's company, and windows for the Pella Window Store in Sioux City. He retired in 2009.

In his younger days, he loved camping, hiking, biking, and being outdoors. Later, he enjoyed puzzles, yardwork, volunteering at Westwood Elementary, and playing cards, especially cribbage. Always, he loved telling jokes and laughing with people. He loved his four grandchildren!

Darrel married Pamela K. Goodwin on December 28, 1974 in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived in Fremont, Nebraska, Yutan, Nebraska, Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Sloan during their fifty-year marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Reuss of Sloan, Iowa; his son, Bryan (Cory) of Iowa City, Iowa and his grandchildren, Esmé and Christopher "Kit"; his daughter, Joy (Dan) of Dubuque, Iowa and his grandson, Bismark "Bix"; his daughter, Rachael (Kevin) of Parker, Colorado and his granddaughter, Elowyn "Ellie"; younger twin brothers, Mike of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Jim (Amy) of Vancouver, Washington; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Margaret (Erlandson) Reuss; and his infant sister, Julie.
