Garza ’23, captures gold at World Police & Fire Games -
Jace Garza ’23 (pictured on the right), earned 11 gold medals at the World Police & Fire Games recently in Birmingham, Alabama. Garza was a member of the Shotgun Sports Team during his time at Midland University.
Deputy Garza, representing Sutter County in California, also earned a team silver medal as well as two bronze medals.
His individual gold medals came in American Trap, Doubles Trap, High Overall Trap events, American Skeet, Skeet Doubles, High Overall Skeet events, and High Overall for all events. He also secured a bronze medal for Sporting Clays.
Competing with Deputy Mikell Nichols, Garza also earned four more gold medals in team competitions, placing first in American Trap, Handicap Trap, Doubles Trap, and Skeet Doubles Team. Garza and Nichols took second in American Skeet Team and third in Sporting Clays Team.
