Gordon W. Soderberg, age 92 of Blair, passed away November 14, 2025, at his home in Blair. Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair.
Gordon was born on November 25, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Gordon T. and Blanche E. (Wyant) Soderberg. He was raised in Mead, Nebraska, and later moved to Fremont where he attended Fremont High School and graduated in 1950.
After high school he attended Wayne State and later graduated from Midland Lutheran College. After graduating from college with a degree in Business Administration, Gordon enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954 and served until his honorable discharge in 1956.
On October 12, 1957, he was united in marriage to Beverly J. Monson at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Gordon was a long-time employee with Mutual Of Omaha in the Fraud Investigation Department. He retired after serving 32 dedicated years at the company.
Gordon was very active in his retirement years, riding his bike until the age of 90. He had a true passion for the outdoors, spending many summers camping and fishing in Canada.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly and his son Scott.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Tim) Welch and Troy (Liz) Soderberg; grandchildren Jamie, Andrew, Zoe, Corrine, Max and Finn; sister Beverly Jessen along with extended family and friends.
