Margaret MillerMargaret Faye Miller, known affectionately as Meg, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, in Round Rock, Texas, at the age of 94. Born on February 16, 1930, in Nickerson, Nebraska, to Earl and Ruby Hefley. Meg will be remembered for her loving nature and her musical talents, which brought joy and touched many people throughout her life.

She received her bachelor's degree in music and education from Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska and her master's degree in elementary education from The University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. She was a devoted wife and helped Art as he served at various Lutheran Churches in Kansas, Colorado, and Texas. They were married for 70 years before Arthur's death in March, 2024. She had a great passion for music and teaching. She taught school in Hooper, Nebraska and Pueblo Community College in Pueblo, Colorado.

After many years away from the stage, Meg had theatrical roles in Tyler and Sun City, TX when she was in her 70's and 80's. She loved her family, directing the choir, playing and teaching piano, traveling, playing cards, square dancing, and tap dancing. Meg played piano in big bands from the age of 14, Touch of Class string quartet, and toured Europe three times as a bassist with the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra. She was an adjudicator for the National Guild of Piano Teachers for 50 years and was a Texas Teaching Fellow for the Texas Music Teachers Educational Foundation. Meg inspired hundreds of piano students over her 70+ years of teaching piano.

Meg was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur and is survived by her son David and daughter in law (Debbie) Miller, her daughter Melody and son-in-law (Daniel) Denson, grandchildren Andrew and (Katie) Miller, Madeline Miller, Chaska Denson, De'Angelo Dowdy, Liberty Denson, and great-grandchildren Eloise Miller and Theodore Miller.

A service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 17th, at 11:00 AM at Palm Valley Lutheran Church, located at 2500 E Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, Texas 78665. A memorial has been established in Meg's name. Donations can be made to: National Guild of Piano Teachers (c/o David Miller, 1221 Prairie St, Northfield, MN 55057). Beck Funeral Home in Austin, Texas, is assisting with the funeral arrangements. Meg's life was a melody of warmth and kindness, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
