Arthur C. Anderson
Arthur Clyde Anderson passed away peacefully at the Creighton Care Center on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.
Art was born to Clyde and Jean Anderson (Davies) in Norfolk on July 2, 1938. He was raised in Bloomfield and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1956. After graduation, Art enrolled as a reserve in the U.S. Navy and attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont for a year but decided it wasn’t for him and transferred to the Missouri School of Mines. While at the Missouri of Mines, he went active duty for the Navy and was an active member until 1961, when he married his beautiful bride.
Art wed Jane Schwanke on July 8, 1961, in Mankato, Minn.
Art and Jane moved to Bloomfield after being married and ran Anderson Insurance and marketed with Crockett Insurance Agency for 41 years. Art then transitioned into his second career after feeling called to be a pastor. He eventually became an ordained minister, serving many area churches.
Art found great joy in preaching and leading people of all ages to Christ. Through his careers, he became known and loved by many. He was involved in many community and church organizations and events. Arthur even decided to go to clown school and become a professional clown to “add something” to community and church events.
Arthur was not only known for his wisdom but also for his sometimes smart-aleck comments and contagious sense of humor. Throughout Art and Jane’s marriage, they were blessed with two children, Greg and Lesa Anderson, and three grandchildren, Tiara and Taryn Wamberg and Ian Anderson.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Jean Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Dave Bristol.
He is survived by his beautiful bride, Jane Anderson; his children, Lesa Anderson and her friend, Brian Wagner, and Greg Anderson; his siblings, Mary Bristol and Jim (Grace) Anderson; his grandchildren, Tiara (Avery) Chrastil, Taryn Wamberg and her friend, Clayton Thompson, and Ian Anderson.
