Richard J. Haubensak '60
Richard J. Haubensak, 80, passed away Tuesday evening, March 6, 2018, at his home in Omaha. He was born in Fremont to Hugo and LaVerne (Samuelson) Haubensak. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1955 and from Midland College in 1960. Richard worked in the Natural Gas industry for 36 years and retired from Utilicorp United as VP of Regulatory Affairs. He continued to serve as a consultant with Cornerstone Energy for an additional 10 years. His Fremont roots were especially dear to him and he so enjoyed staying in touch with his high school classmates and for many years served on the Alumni Board of Midland College. His parents and his aunt, Sammy (Robert) Snow, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Kathie (Wiese) Haubensak; his sister, Ellen Haubensak, Omaha; his children, Heidi (Ken) Kantor, Texas, Karen Haubensak, Omaha, James (Carrie) Haubensak, Springfield, (Dan) Pedersen, Illinois; and his eight precious grandchildren.
Celebration of Life is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, 15005 Q St., Omaha, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Open Door Mission.
