Mildred M. Martin, 93, died peacefully June 6, 2017, at The Little Hospice, Edina, in the company of loving family.

Born in Omaha, Neb., Millie was a daughter of Swedish immigrants. She was proud of her heritage. Millie was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed current events, gardening and cooking. As a hostess she always made everyone feel welcome in her home.

Millie and her husband of 63 years, Don, retired in 1982 to the home they built on Lone Lake and had many happy years together.

She will be missed by her daughters, Anne (Jim), Carol (Scott), Dorothy, (John), Beverly (Kevin) and Grace (Mark); grandchildren, Emily, Nathan (Jean), Cyrus (Sunshine), Will (Madison), Carrie (Dan) and Alex, as well as several great-grandchildren.

There will be a private family gathering at a later date.

The family wishes to acknowledge the truly exceptional care Millie received at The Little Hospice. If desired, memorial gifts are preferred to the Aitkin chapter of Habitat for Humanity, N.C. Little Hospice or a charity of choice.
