Sharlene Rose Norem, age 83, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2018. She was born in Craig, NE to William and Rose Eggers. She met Alden Norem while attending Midland College in Fremont, NE. The two married and celebrated 55 great years together. 

Sharlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by many as the kindest woman you will ever meet. In retirement, she and Alden spent winters in Apache Junction, AZ. While in Des Moines, Sharlene volunteered at the Lutheran Hospital Gift Shop and was active in her church.

Sharlene is preceded in death by her husband Alden Norem; brother Glenn Eggers and survived by her children: Lori (Bob) Baker of Norwalk, IA and Dan (Patty) Norem of Franklin, TN; along with four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Hurrell.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Thursday, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, with her funeral beginning at 11 a.m. Following lunch, she will be interred at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research , Trinity Center at Luther Park, or Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
