Summary of Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association Executive Board Meeting October 13, 2023
The Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association Executive Board met in person for their quarterly meeting on Friday, October 13, 2023.
Dr. Keeling reported on the Nursing Department as follows:
- Senior class: 31; Junior class: 22; Sophomore class: 28. There are 35 in the freshmen class who anticipate entrance into the nursing program at the end of their freshman year.
- Awaiting accreditation letter from ACEN.
- Working on curriculum revisions.
- Commitment Ceremony will be conducted in the fall of the junior year rather than spring of sophomore year. Pinning Ceremony will continue to be the evening before graduation. Alumni Association has been asked to take part in both ceremonies as we have done in the past.
- Manikins in the simulation lab are showing wear. Will need to be replaced in the near future.
Lois Linden, Chairperson of the 100th Year Celebration of the I-MNAA, reported the committees progress on determining title, theme, logo and colors of the event. A draft of the event schedule was shared. Plans are progressing well for the event planned for Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Goodie bags were filled and will be delivered to the 81 nursing students later this fall.
Spring luncheon and annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Midland University Private Dining Room. The fall newsletter including a save-the-date will be mailed to all Immanuel and MU graduates in early November, 2023.
