Making a Difference Across the Globe

Impacting someone else’s life is the most fulfilling aspect of Branden Mills’ ‘21 work with Gallup. Now, he’s getting to make that impact on a global scale.

Mills is currently working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a business consultant for Gallup. He has been with the company since graduating from Midland. “My biggest accomplishment has been getting a job where I’m able to make a positive impact on someone’s life and work environment,” he said. “My joy and fulfillment comes from other people’s happiness.”

Helping others has always been a way of life for Branden, going back to his time at Midland. As a student, he was instrumental in creating the Black Student Union organization. “Creating this group helped facilitate a space where people who are black could not only have their voices heard, but encourage understanding between differences,” he said. “After forming BSU, we were able to make a huge impact on the community and be a part of demonstrations that helped provide meaningful conversations and create solidarity between opposing groups.”

Midland appealed to Mills because of its size, and afforded him the opportunity to continue his track and field career. “I like the smaller size of Midland,” Mills said. “I was able to have professors who knew my name and provided me with resources to set me up for success. I also loved the idea of being able to continue my career in track and field.”

Following graduation, Mills continued his journey with Gallup and has appreciated the role he’s had in changing the lives of others. “I help companies make positive changes, a little to a lot every day,” he said. “I use Gallup’s understanding of the human experience to help our clients solve their greatest challenges and seize their greatest opportunities.”

His time at Midland helped set his course in the professional world. “Midland made an impact by allowing me to not be afraid of showing my personality and being myself,” he said. “I understood what it took to be a business professional by learning to analyze data and apply it to the human experience.”

In his time away from work, Branden enjoys running, traveling, and cooking. He also enjoys spending time with his cat, a Norwegian Forest mix.
